Chevrolet Lumina Driving Experiences

In production from 1989 to 2001, the Chevrolet Lumina went through two generations of models, but at TrackDays, the one we offer to book for our driving experience days is the high performance version, sometimes known as the Lumina Z34.

This touring car version of the Lumina was especially built for track use, and has featured predominantly in the Australian V8 Supercar Championship. And as you’ll discover when you take to the wheel of it, it’s equipped for sheer performance and power out on the straights and corners.

Its 5.7 litre V8 engine, packing an impressive 400 bhp, means it can easily accelerate from 0 - 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and 0 - 100 mph in 12.5 seconds, with achievable top speeds in this custom prepared Lumina model of 160 mph.

Chevrolet partnered with Disney-MGM Studios in 1990, when the Lumina became the official car of the Walt Disney World resort in Florida. Characters from the popular animated film Fantasia were also used in an extensive advertising campaign as part of their promotions.

Although the Lumina model and name was discontinued in North America in 2001, it lived on from 1998 to 2013 in the Australian market, where Holden (that country’s subsidiary of General Motors, who also own Chevrolet) produced a third and fourth generation Lumina for the Middle East and South African markets.
