Information About the Hyundai i30N Performance
First unveiled 10 years after its succeeding on-road hatchback model, the i30, was launched and first produced in 2007, Hyundai’s ‘N’ division - for its high performance cars - first released the i30N Performance in 2017.
It was also the very first branded hatchback vehicle to be produced by this marque of Hyundai, with the ‘N’ in its name being a reference to their research and development centre in Namyang, South Korea.
The engineering alone in this model is proof that it’s much more track centric than its on-road counterpart, kitted out with a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that powers out with 271 bhp, helping it accelerate from 0 - 60 mph in a remarkable 5.9 seconds, on its way to top speeds of around 155 mph.

On the whole, praise for the Hyundai i30N Performance in the three years since it was first produced has been positive. Awarding it 4.5 out of 5 in their review, EVO magazine said it had ‘the naughtiest exhaust notes this side of a supercar … fantastic fun and usable.’
It also received 4 out of 5 in Car magazine’s review, who particularly highlighted their enjoyment of its handling, saying ‘it suits the long, fast corners of the track and feels heroically grippy … [it] pulls up quickly with plenty of feel through the pedal.’
