Jaguar XE Driving Experiences

Jaguar first announced the forthcoming production of their XE model at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring of 2014, ahead of its global launch in London in September of that year.

Succeeding their X-Type model, it was Jaguar’s first model to be built at their then launched plant in Solihull in the West Midlands, which is dedicated to producing aluminium Jaguar models.

It is perhaps smaller and less powerful in comparison to Jaguar’s other models - certainly the ones we have available to book for driving experiences - but make no mistake. This high performance saloon with rear and all wheel drive functions is more than up to the task.

It’s 2.0 litre Ford EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine roars out an impressive 178 bhp, which allows it to score from 0 - 60 mph in under 8 seconds, and you can expect to achieve top speeds of around 140 mph.

The Jaguar XE has proved to be one of the marque’s best selling models since it rolled off the production line in 2015 - over 65,000 units have been sold worldwide. There was also a limited run of 300 models of a special XE, produced in 2017, called the SV Project 8, for that year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Praise from the motoring press for the XE was universally positive upon its launch. AutoExpress rated it 4.5 out of 5, saying that ‘for a small saloon, it delivers a fine balance between performance, efficiency and luxury,’ whilst AutoCar also awarded it 4.5 out of 5, highlighting its ‘competitive performance and class leading ride and handling.’
