Information About the Lamborghini Aventador S
Lamborghini’s Aventador S supercar is the most recent incarnation of their popular Aventador model. First showcased in December 2016 at their Sant'Agata factory in Italy, before a grand unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, on first glance there may not be much to separate it from its predecessor.
But make no mistake, for this is just as much of, if not more so, a red blooded, raging bull as the Aventador before it. For starters, the design is a fraction more refined and less angular in shape. Engineering wise, it is kitted out with four wheel steering, a permanent four wheel drive and a Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA) control unit suspension.
The 6.5 litre, naturally aspirated V12 engine has been fine tuned as well, meaning that it’s horsepower has been turbo boosted to a phenomenal 740 bhp, helping it to scorch from 0 - 60 mph in 3 seconds. You can expect to reach top speeds in excess of 217 mph when you take to the wheel of this Italian marque’s latest snorting stallion.
Cool Facts About the Lamborghini Aventador S
No sooner had Lamborghini unveiled the Aventador S, then they also showcased the Roadster convertible version of it in 2017, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is largely the same as the Aventador S, save for two retractable carbon fibre panels, that are stored in the front compartment of the car, and new optional wheels.
Many motoring critics praised the Aventador S, for refining and improving several elements on the existing Aventador model that had gone before it. BBC motoring show Top Gear in particular picked up on this, saying ‘with the reprogrammed suspension and re-tuned steering, the Aventador not only feels sharper and far more agile, but also more cohesive.’
EVO magazine also pointed out its key improvements, with their review stating that ‘the Aventador S has an improved feel over a standard car, and a far more engaging chassis … just a better supercar, full stop.’
