As production on their long running and well loved Murcielago supercar drew to a close at the end of the 00s, Lamborghini unveiled a special variant on the model at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. The Lamborghini LP670 (or LP670-4 SuperVeloce to give it its full title) was the fastest such model from the Italian marque to that point.

The ‘SuperVeloce’ or ‘SV’ signia in its name reflects that, for it really is super fast. In fact, this had more in common with a track car than it ever did with a road car, such was its sheer power and performance that made this a model only for the most skilled driver to attempt to wrestle behind the wheel of.

Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson, writing for The Sunday Times, stated the LP670 was ‘brilliantly bonkers … this insane raging bull … has upped the power by 30 bhp, and lightened the car by 100 kg. It is every bit as mad as its predecessors.’
