KITT is actually two characters in the famous Knightrider series; known first as Knight Industries Two Thousand and then later as Knight Industries Three Thousand. KITT is actually classed as an artificial intelligence computer that’s placed inside of a highly modified and advanced 1982 Pontiac Firebird.
KITT quickly became one of the most famous cars to ever grace our screens as the supercomputer on wheels became a beloved character in the show. KITT has many unique features such as the red scanner on the front of the vehicle.
This distinctive feature is perhaps the most iconic recogniser for KITT as other Pontiacs do not share the same design. KITT has an enormous amount of additional features as well including: silent mode, turbo boost, cruise control modes, grappling hook and winch, smoke screen amongst various other features!
KITT really was a trailblazer for showcasing unique qualities on a vehicle that now seem quite outdated. However, their ability to recognise what the future of automobiles looks like was staggeringly accurate.
