Thruxton Driving Experiences

Situated in Hampshire in the South West of England, with good links to Basingstoke, Andover and Salisbury, and with links to the M3 and M27 motorways, Thruxton is one of the longest race circuits on our books at Driving Experience, at 2.4 miles. We offer a fantastic selection of driving experience days that are available to book with us today.

In common with a lot of our venues, Thruxton’s roots started in WWII, when it was an airfield for the RAF. After closing for military operations in 1946, motor racing started there four years later in 1950, and they haven’t looked back since, making Thruxton a much loved and iconic British motorsport circuit.

Indeed, if you fancy following in the famous footsteps of British F1 champion Damon Hill, who drove his pole position winning car at 147 mph around the circuit in 1993, our range of Racing Car experiences will let you live out those dreams.

Under the guidance of an expert instructor, you can get to burn some serious rubber in the likes of a Porsche Cayman sports car, Lotus Exige or even a Formula Renault, which is the closest experience you can get to drive in a custom built, track ready race car of the kind that has helped make motor racing legends pass into history.

If it’s the most exclusive and much desired supercars that take your fancy, we’ve got a great selection of them in our Supercar experience day packages. Amongst them are the McLaren 570S, the Aston Martin Vantage N430, and the Jaguar F-Type SVR, all of which are included in our Ultimate Supercar Driving Experience package.

On this experience day, you’ll get the chance to go on three, four or five laps each in seven supercars, plus a high speed passenger ride and a chance to meet former Top Gear and Fifth Gear favourite Tiff Needell, who will take you for a three lap passenger ride in a stunning BMW M4. Thruxton Circuit was formally an RAF base build in 1942, both RAF and US Air Force called Thruxton home during WWII. The circuit's track, established in 1968, follows the old airfields perimeter track. Since its days as an airfield the circuit is now host to many different motor sports from Formula 3 and British GT to British Superbikes.
