Your Lotus Driving Experience Day
Anthony Bruce Chapman built the first Lotus car over 70 years ago, and thus began the incredible legacy of an iconic name in British motorsport, with many of their cars going onto victory laps in Formula 1 and many other well-known motorsport series.
Driving Experience is delighted to offer you our highly popular Lotus experience days, where you can get behind the wheel and witness their sheer force and stunning performance abilities at a variety of race track and circuit track venues nationwide.
Chapman’s philosophy of ‘Performance through lightweight’ means that these supercars are some of the most lithe and compactly designed of their kind. Only a go-kart comes close to replicating the intensity of this driving experience, where you’ll feel the impressive handling of every curve, corner and straight of the track to make you feel like you’re in pole position yourself.
Among the models we offer for driving experience days, our fleet includes the Lotus Elise and Lotus Evora 400. The intricate engineering techniques utilised on these winning machines, with perfect suspension handling and weight distribution, requires a driver at the peak of their potency and most importantly, a steady pair of hands.
The Elise model can even be booked vs a Ferrari! You’ll get your own professionally trained instructor, who can guide you and offer expert tricks and tips to get the most out of your drive and show off its performance capabilities to the fullest.
We’re confident you’ll find a package to suit your needs - they’re a great gift idea too. Take a look at our selection above, then simply purchase your 10 month gift voucher or select an available time and date of your choosing from our events calendar.
Booking a Lotus Driving Experience
There are two easy ways for you to purchase a Lotus Driving Experience on Driving Experience. You can either purchase one of our driving experience days as a 10-month gift voucher or book directly onto a date of your choice.
If you cannot see any dates on the voucher page, then simply e-mail or call us and our customer service team can give you the most up to date availability. Essential Booking Information for Lotus Driving Experiences
If you buy an open gift voucher for a Lotus package, the standard validity period to use the voucher is 10 months. However, please make sure you check this first, as some Lotus vouchers and special offers may have a shorter or longer validity.
If you are booking directly onto a date for a driving experience, please note that you are making a booking request, and the date and time that you choose will still be subject to availability.
We usually confirm bookings within 48 hours, but we ask that you do not make any arrangements in conjunction with your booking request until you have received your final confirmation email. The receipt we send you after making a booking request is not your confirmation.
Other important things to consider when purchasing driving experiences for the Lotus is that the driver meets all requirements in terms of age, weight, height and driving licence. These requirements are unique to each driving experience, so please ensure you have read the important information thoroughly.
If an experience is for junior drivers only, we will usually mention this in the name of the package, but not in all cases. If you place a booking for a driving experience, and the driver doesn’t meet the requirements on the day, then it is unlikely they will be able to drive the vehicle, in which case they will be offered a passenger ride.
In Profile: The Lotus Elise
Ask the majority of our Driving Experience customers who purchase a Lotus experience day with us what their favourite model is, and the Elise seems to be the common answer.
So named after the then Lotus chairman Romano Aritoli’s granddaughter, it was first produced in September 1996. Believe us when we say that this little lady of the Lotus supercar family is both a supreme handler, packing 118 bhp, and a serious speed demon, capable of 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds.
Under guidance of your instructor, you could reach speeds of up to 120 mph in this car at certain track venues. The maximum top speed limit may vary from venue to venue, due to variations in track length, but you will still be able to experience the smooth and perfectly executed acceleration, braking, and cornering on the shorter tracks as you do on the longer tracks.
