Introducing Young Driver Training Experiences and Kids Driving Lessons
Whilst we offer excitement and fun with our Junior Supercar Experiences, at Driving Experience we know it's just as important for your son or daughter's future on the roads that they have the skills set to take control and drive a vehicle. Considerable research has been conducted in recent years that reveals an alarming statistic; 1 in 5 newly qualified drivers are likely to be involved in a crash or accident within their first 6 months on the road.
The common factor in this is of course, level of experience. Which is why our Young Driver Training and Kids Driving Lessons Experience packages are an ideal and practical solution to help them make the transition from an early age to when they begin driving lessons for real. Our Young Driver Training is specifically targeted at the 10 - 17 year old driver with one aim - to give them the best possible start to learning their basic driving skills.
Motoring has advanced a long way even in the last decade, and as things continue to change with rapid development, this means the National Driving Test will cover more than ever before. But no matter which course you choose for your young driver, you can be confident that its content will be as relevant and comprehensive for them as possible.
Why Choose a Young Driver Training or Kids Driving Lessons Experience?
It's that Catch 22 when it comes to doing anything new for the first time: how do you gain experience if you've never had experience? Driving is no exception, but thankfully our Young Driver Training and Kids Driving Lessons Experiences are effective in helping bridge the gap for when your young driver comes to commence formal driving lessons with their provisional licence.
The benefits are simple: they'll learn under controlled, simulated conditions that are as close to real life road experience as you can get. Most importantly, there is less pressure and thus less expectation from delivering the courses in this way, which will surely be a positive in terms of putting both your and their minds at ease. And a relaxed young driver is a better learner.
Starting lessons Under 17 also means you can spread the cost over several years rather than months, which has why we've seen a surge in popularity for these packages, as we wrote about in our Junior Driving Experiences Surge Amid Test Centre Backlog news story. Not only does it help kids get more confident, but it helps you as parents finance them learning to drive too.
What To Expect on a Young Driver Training Experience
We have a variety of course lengths for our Young Driver Training and Kids Driving Lessons Experiences: from 30 minutes, all the way up to 3 hours. The under 17 driver will learn a lot of the basics of driving, however long their session is, including braking, manoeuvring, acceleration and gear changes amongst many other important skills.
We also offer a wide selection of vehicles for them to get behind the wheel of and which are ideal for taking their first driving steps in, usually in dual controlled vehicles such as the Vauxhall Corsa, Mini Cooper or Mazda MX-5.
However big the vehicle, all of these are dual controlled, and your young driver will be accompanied throughout the experience by an ARDS qualified and approved instructor, who will offer them all the guidance and relevant information they need.
We also have the widest selection of venues right across the UK available to book Driving Lessons for Kids at, so wherever you or your child are based in the country, there's a venue closer to you than you might think.
Driving Lessons for the Under 10s
Your young driver doesn't have to wait until their 10th birthday to have their first driving experience. If they're aged between 5 - 10 years old, they can get behind the wheel of 'Firefly'. This is our two seater, dual electric motor powered car, which has been specifically designed to handle just like the real thing.
It also comes with fully independent suspension, indicators, headlights, special disk brakes and a rack and pinion steering column. The passenger seat is also fully adjustable, so a parent, guardian, older sibling or friend can ride alongside your child if they need a little more support and practice.
Essential Requirements for Young Driver Training and Kids Driving Lessons
