Nestled in the heart of the Essex countryside lies North Weald Airfield, one of the most versatile venues we offer to book for driving experience days here on Driving Experience. It has good links to the A12 and M11 and M25 motorways, and half an hour’s drive from Chelmsford, Harlow and under an hour from Central London.

It is a location that’s used to high powered machinery zipping about, as it was a former RAF fighter base, most notably during the Battle of Britain in WWII. In the time since then, this privately owned venue now plays host to all manner of exciting driving experiences in a variety of cars and vehicles, for adult and junior drivers alike.

This includes our Supercar driving experiences, offering access to the wheels of some of the most highly desired marques worldwide, including the Aston Martin Vantage, the Lamborghini Gallardo, Subaru Impreza and Audi R8 amongst others.

North Weald is also one of our venues that offers the most supercars in our Combined Experience packages, with our Ten Supercar Blast offering 3 miles each in 10 supercars of your choice. Definitely something to make petrolheads everywhere rub their hands together with unadulterated glee.

The airfield also offers our Lotus Elise passenger ride day, where, under the handling of an expert instructor, you’ll get to witness what a car with real racing credentials from one of the prime names in British motoring can really do on this thrill seeking track.

Being a former airfield also means that this location is ideal for our Skid Control experiences, where you’ll master and execute some of the most complex driving maneuvers that will also stand you in good stead to deal with challenging circumstances on public roads. If you prefer your driving a bit more supersized than supercar, our Truck Driving Thrill experience offers you the opportunity to take to the wheel of a DAF Truck or Renault Magnum under the guidance of a qualified instructor.

Junior drivers aged 10 and up can get in on the action too, and not just with our Junior Supercar blasts, which make a unique gift idea to celebrate their birthday, Christmas or any special occasion. The First Drive experience we offer at North Weald is a fantastic introduction to driving, with a chance to experience real life road conditions and give them a head start for when they’re old enough to start driving lessons for real.
