Chevrolet Stingray Driving Experiences
Chevrolet’s Corvette C2 was their second generation of the American muscle car favourite’s Corvette models, in production for five years from 1963 to 1967. The particular model we have available to book for driving experience days is nicknamed the ‘Corvette Stingray’, owing to its origin as the ‘Sting Ray’ concept Corvette they produced in 1959.
The dazzling Stars and Stripes livery that our Corvette Stingray is painted out in should be confirmation enough that this really is an all-American car, but it’s also kitted out with some engineering and automotive technology that for its time was quite forward thinking and powerful.
The V8 engine that this 1964 Corvette is powered on roars out with an impressive 600 bhp, which makes for some equally dazzling speed stats; acceleration from 0 - 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, on its way to achieving top speeds in excess of 150 mph.
Cool Facts About the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
The 1964 model year Chevrolet Corvette Stingray had some distinctive differences from the debut model the previous year. Most of these were cosmetic, but it saw the simulated air intakes removed from the hood of the vehicle, whilst the steering wheel rim was now in a recreated walnut colour.
Of course, movie buffs of the 1970s will also recognise the Corvette Stingray for its starring role in the comedy caper film Stingray back in 1978, and as a result it remains a popular choice of car for many of our Movie Car packages we have available to book here on Driving Experience.
