Truck Optimus Prime Driving Experiences

The Transformers franchise has been going strong for 35 years since its launch in 1984, progressing from the popular line of toys and animated cartoon series, to the current run of blockbusting films directed by Michael Bay, that have been wowing movie audiences since 2007.

But whichever generation you’re acquainted with, our Optimus Prime truck is sure to be a crowd pleaser for young and old alike. It’s basis is a Peterbilt 379, a Class 8 American truck that also happens to be a close relation of the Kenworth W900L truck we also have available for truck driving experience days.

Styled in a distinctive livery to closely resemble Optimus Prime, the famed leader of the heroes of Transformers, the Autobots, it is powered on a heavy duty 14.6 litre engine that roars out with 550 bhp and can achieve top speeds of 124 mph. We’ve no doubt that once you climb into the cab that you’ll feel ready to bring the evil Decepticons to justice!

Optimus Prime is undoubtedly the leading protagonist of the Transformers series, not only in the films and cartoons, but also as the subject of numerous video games, toys and countless popular culture references, including, most impressively of all, a 40 ft statue in Kunming city in Yunnan Province, China.

Interestingly, Peterbilt 379 trucks aren’t only known for being the basis for Optimus Prime either. They also featured in the famous ‘truck heist’ scene in the first of the Fast and Furious films franchise, and in the 1998 action film Black Dog starring Patrick Swayze and US rock legend Meat Loaf.
