Junior Driving with a Disability

Youngsters aged 10 and up with a disability or visual impairment now, for the first time ever, have the opportunity to drive a supercharged set of supercars on our Junior Adaptive Driving Experiences that have arrived here at Driving Experience.

And if there's a son, daughter, niece, nephew or grandchild in your life with a disability or impairment that loves their supercars, then they're in for a wonderful surprise when they take to a real track circuit to really drive a supercar.

We are working in conjunction with a leading disability organisation that has been providing these once in a lifetime experiences to kids and teens with a disability or visual impairment for many years. They are very passionate about what they do and we can assure you that we're working with the very best.

On offer to drive on the Junior Adaptive Supercar Experiences is a hand-picked selection of some of the most desirable marques in the world, including a Ferrari 430, Aston Martin DB9, Porsche 911, Audi R8, Lamborghini Gallardo and Nissan GTR.

They can drive as many as five supercars, all on the same day for 3 miles each - or for an additional fee, there is the option to Double the Distance in each car to 6 miles each. The cars selected for these experiences all have semi automatic gearboxes, so are thus very accommodating to all physical disabilities and visual or hearing impairments.

They can be fitted with fixed or temporary hand controls, including a universal removable hand control and steering wheel ball - all to ensure they are as comfortable as possible so they can concentrate on getting the car up to speed as needed and directing it around the circuit, with no need to worry about gear changing.

An expert instructor will also be beside them throughout the course of their drive, to offer guidance, support and encouragement, plus a maximum of two cars are out on track at any one time at equal distance apart to ensure the most relaxed but enjoyable time possible.

At time of writing, there are currently three venues, all at different locations across the UK where the Junior Adaptive Supercar Experiences are hosted: Bicester Heritage Centre and Abingdon Airfield in Oxfordshire, and Tockwith Motorsports Centre in Yorkshire.

These venues are very accommodating to people with a disability or visual impairment, and have both disabled toilets and parking available, as well as facilities for hot and cold refreshments on-site from cafes and restaurants.

Can My Child With a Disability Really Drive a Supercar?

Yes, they really will be driving a supercar! The instructors in the cars are very sensitive and understanding, having worked on these experiences for many years, so they'll be there to help your child be as hands on with the driving as possible. It'll be a real boost to their confidence that they can go on and enjoy the same experiences that their peers without a disability or visual impairment can.

We are committed to making sure that the driving experience is as accessible and enjoyable as possible, because we understand that every child with a disability or visual impairment is unique and has value. Therefore, a dedicated representative from our Customer Service team will get in touch with yourself at the point you come to redeem your voucher.

A short questionnaire will be taken with yourself; this is so that we can obtain some basic information and an understanding of your child's specific requirements and needs. This information will then be sent over to the supplier along with your booking request - rest assured, it will only be used for this purpose.

They will then get back in touch with you directly to confirm the final date booking and ensure that your child with a disability or visual impairment has an awesome supercar driving experience that's as custom built for their needs as possible.
