Information About the GMC Vandura
The GMC Vandura was produced by Chevrolet and General Motors Truck Company (GMC) in the incarnation we have available to book for driving experience days here on TrackDays between 1980 - 1983.
The Vandura had already been in production since 1964 when the third generation was introduced. The substantial differences for the 1980 model was new rear-view mirrors on both driver and passenger doors, and electronic spark control in selected models.
A heavy van weighing in at 5049 lbs, the powering on the GMC Vandura comes from a 5.7 litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, which pumps out 165 bhp. This enables it to accelerate from 0 - 60 mph in 7.2 seconds, with achievable top speeds of 93 mph.
