The MINI CHALLENGE, founded in 2002, is a competitive one-make racing series featuring modified MINI Cooper and John Cooper Works (JCW) models. It is one of the UK’s most popular motorsport events and has become a staple on the UK motorsport calendar, attracting both amateur and professional drivers.
Known for its affordability, fairness, and thrilling competition, the MINI CHALLENGE provides close racing and opportunities for drivers to progress to higher levels of motorsport. It is uniquely supported by MINI UK, which enhances its reputation in the racing community.
The series consists of several classes:
- JCW Class: Based on the Gen 3 F56 MINI Hatch, with a target power output of 255 bhp and approximately 1170 kg total weight with the driver.
- JCW Sport Class: (introduced in 2024) Similar chassis as the JCW Class but targets 225 bhp.
- Cooper Class: (introduced in 2021) Features more moderate chassis modifications with 130 bhp.
Competitions are organised into the JCW Championship, JCW Sport Championship, and Cooper Trophy championships. For the 2024 season, the first two will support the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) across seven weekends, with the Cooper Trophy participating in three of those events and the remaining four held at Truck or BARC events.
At DrivingExperience.com, you have the opportunity to drive various models from the iconic British manufacturer, including the Classic Mini Cooper and Cooper S.
