In America, everything - driving included - is supersized, and this is especially true of their trucks, as you’ll discover when you book to attend our excellent American Truck Driving Taster day at Goodwood Race Circuit. Your day commences with a welcome and safety briefing from an expert instructor. Then it’s time to climb into the cabin for one driving lap in a Kenworth or Peterbilt truck. Here, you'll be driving and maneuvering the truck around a short course for one lap of just over 2 miles. There’s also the option to purchase additional passenger laps on the day, which are fantastic as these give you an entirely different perspective of the track, whilst the instructor demonstrates what this monster of the American highways can really do. This really is the ideal experience for any truck enthusiasts, or anyone looking for something to drive that’s more super truck than supercar!

How much driving time do you get?

Can friends and family come to watch?
Yes. Spectators are welcome at most venues, and many locations have designated viewing areas. Some venues may charge a small entry fee.

Do you need a driving licence?
Most adult experiences require a full driving licence. However, junior and no-licence experiences are also available and clearly marked.

- These experiences are held on private property, all participants and spectators must respect the rules of the course/track and adhere to any requests of the landowners.

Extras on the day
Please be aware these trucks are left-hand drive, have steep steps. They have several gears in different ranges and no synchromesh, therefore you have to double the clutch to change gear. It takes varying lengths of time for individuals to become accustomed to using the gear system. It will not be possible to drive any more than one lap if the driver as not been able to get accustomed to using the gears.
