Aston Martin DB12 Launches As They Celebrate 110th Anniversary

Aston Martin DB12 Launches As They Celebrate 110th Anniversary - News

"This is no mere GT. Fiercer. Purer. Sharper. Finer. Bolder. The World's First Super Tourer. DB12." - Aston Martin has finally revealed its highly anticipated evolution of the DB11, and with it, the company also highlighted its intentions to continue to build itself as a key player within the sports car market on the year it celebrates its 110th anniversary.

It looks as if Aston Martin has also decided to start taking complete ownership of what goes into its car, ditching some partnerships it had in the past to build a car which fits in with the modern, luxurious standards which people expect, while still keeping the iconic looks we associate with the DB range. It still features Mercedes' 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine but looks like the V12 will no longer be featured in the DB moving forward.

Also facing the chop were many of the components inside the cabin which made the DB11 feel instantly outdated with Aston Martin's new infotainment system looking like they have delivered a car as opulent on the inside as out.

Simon Newton, Aston Martin's head of engineering, told Auto Express that they wanted the DB12 to have "traditional touring strengths but with a much broader set of abilities that deliver greater involvement on the right road. We're confident that dynamically, this car is a huge step compared with DB11. It's a night and day difference."

We aren't car reviewers here at DrivingExperience.com, so we will leave the rest of the lyrical waxing to the experts. We are experts in driving experiences though, and what we do know is that Aston Martin's are one of our most popular vehicles for a reason. They deliver performance out on the track which our customers always enjoy, and we have no doubt that the direction Aston Martin is heading will mean there is plenty of fun to be had out on the track!

As we raise our glasses to this illustrious milestone, it's only fitting to take a journey back in time and revisit some of the most remarkable models that have shaped Aston Martin's prestigious history. The Vanquish's lightweight aluminium body, powered by a formidable V12 engine capable of pushing out 460bhp, ensured breath-taking acceleration and a top speed that pushed the boundaries of what was thought possible by Aston Martin at the time. With its exceptional performance and luxurious interior, the Vanquish helped to carve a new path for Aston Martin in the modern era.

  • Aston Martin DB9 (2004): Fusion of Beauty and Performance

Underneath its captivating exterior, the DB9 featured a glorious V12 engine, providing exhilarating performance and a symphony of sound. Its sumptuous interior, crafted with the finest materials, enveloped occupants in comfort and luxury. The DB9 solidified Aston Martin's position as a purveyor of automotive masterpieces.
