The August Bank Holiday is almost here, which means there are only a few sensible ways to spend the final long weekend of summer. You could have a barbecue, sit in the garden and argue about whose turn it is to buy the sausages. This year, there are some particularly tempting deals across the Bank Holiday weekend, with experiences available from Friday 28 August through to Monday 31 August. Friday 28th August: Driving Legends at Elvington
Kicking things off is the Driving Legends Experience at Elvington on Friday 28th August, currently available for £39, reduced from £59.
This is a particularly good choice if you cannot decide what sort of car you actually want to drive. The experience offers a selection of legendary machinery, with options including supercars, rally cars, classics and other performance vehicles.
You get around three miles behind the wheel of your chosen car, followed by a high speed passenger ride with an instructor. Not a bad way to begin the Bank Holiday, and considerably more interesting than beginning it by mowing the lawn.
Saturday 29th August: Triple Premium Supercar Drive at Abingdon
Saturday is where things get serious with the Triple Premium Supercar Drive Experience at Abingdon.
Available on Saturday 29th August for £199, reduced from £209, this gives you the opportunity to drive three premium supercars, with three miles in each. If three supercars sounds slightly excessive, Sunday offers a rather neat middle ground.
The Supercar Double Blast Experience - Anytime is available at Llandow on Sunday 30 August for £89, reduced from £109. You get to choose two supercars and drive each for three miles.
The selection can include some serious names, including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Audi and Nissan, depending on availability.
It is a simple but very effective formula: two cars, six miles of driving and enough time to decide which one you would have in your imaginary garage.
Monday 31st August: Ultimate Legends at Three Sisters
Finally, there is the Ultimate Legends Driving Experience at Three Sisters on Monday 31st August.
Currently reduced from £119 to £89, this experience gives you a choice of legendary machinery, including supercars, racing cars, rally cars and classic cars. Options can include the McLaren 570S, Lamborghini Huracan, Aston Martin DB11, Shelby AC Cobra and Ford Escort Mk1.
You get approximately three miles driving your chosen car, followed by a high speed passenger ride with an instructor.
It is quite an appropriate way to finish the Bank Holiday. One last blast before reality returns and someone starts asking whether you have checked your emails.

The Llandow Double Blast is ideal for anyone who wants to try two supercars without going quite as far, while the Ultimate Legends experience at Three Sisters is the wildcard for those who fancy something beyond the usual supercar selection.
Whichever you choose, the August Bank Holiday is a pretty good excuse to swap the barbecue for a steering wheel and make the most of the final long weekend of summer. After all, there will always be another Bank Holiday barbecue. There will not always be a Lamborghini waiting for you.
