Staying safe on the road is vital all year round. And, whether you're a new driver or have years of experience, improving your driving skills is always a smart move, especially when the Highway Code changes every few years, thus meaning more new things to be aware of out on the roads.
At Driving Experience, we offer a range of Driving Lessons and Safer Driving Courses, designed to make you a safer, more confident driver, with experiences tailored for all ages and abilities.
From mastering Skid Control to teaching young drivers the basics, these hands-on sessions provide practical knowledge that could make all the difference when it matters most. Explore how our safer driving experiences can help you take control behind the wheel.
Skid Pan
It doesn't take a genius to tell you that the UK has more than its fair share of changeable weather. So being able to handle a car as the rain falls - or more challenging conditions such as snow and ice - is an important skill to have, including how to deal with aquaplaning and braking correctly.
Our Skid Pan Training sessions are available to individuals or can be booked for two people to learn together. Key elements include regaining control in skid conditions, plus understanding oversteer and understeer.
Experiences with qualified ARDS or BARS instructors take place on an actual skid pan (cradles are not used) and there's also a classroom session.
Courses can either be one hour long or two hours long, again for individuals or for two people. Either one will help when driving on a low-grip surface.
Safer Driving Course
This course is ideal for all levels of driving experience, from those who've just passed their test to drivers with years of experience (as all drivers can benefit from a refresher).
The circuit course includes a total of seven practical modules, covering wet weather, snow and ice driving, accident avoidance, driving on a muddy road, plus other disciplines.
While important to have an understanding of these skills, the course takes place in a fun and relaxed environment for maximum engagement.-Any driver wanting to improve their driving skills, should consider booking this experience.
Start Young
Stamping out possible bad driving habits, and installing good driving morals, from a young age is a sensible option.
We have several Young Driver Training packages available for those aged 10 - 17, who are yet to take their driving test but want a taste of what it's like behind the wheel.
Children from as young as 10 years old can jump in the driving seat at a circuit and start to learn the basics of car control such as clutch control, reversing, parking, gear shifting and manoeuvring, all at a slow pace.
DrivingExperience.com even has driving lessons for juniors, aged from 11 years, on a circuit. Lasting 30 minutes or up to three hours, youngsters will have a fully qualified instructor beside them to help them learn basic driving skills. Who knows, some extra time practising on a circuit could make all the difference when it comes to taking the driving test for real!
Safe Driving, Safe Roads
Learning to be a better, and safer, driver is a win-win situation. Not only will your confidence improve, but you'll also know how to handle adverse driving conditions.
