Smeatharpe Stadium Junior Driving Experiences

Smeatharpe, a former World War II airfield nestled near Honiton in Devon, still carries a rugged charm—and with it, some back-to-basics facilities. Visitors will find an open-air spectator area with good track views, plus access to the pit zone for a closer look at the action. As the site is exposed to the elements, dressing appropriately for the weather is strongly advised. On the plus side, there's a selection of hot and cold food and drinks available to keep you fuelled throughout the day.

Junior drivers are in for a real treat at Smeatharpe. Just like the grown-ups, they have the chance to get behind the wheel of some of the world’s most iconic supercars. Children as young as 10 can feel the adrenaline rush of driving legendary models like the Lamborghini Gallardo or Porsche 911, thanks to the exciting range of Junior Supercar Experiences held on-site. As birthday gifts go, it doesn’t get much better—at least, we don’t think so!

Beyond the thrill of Junior Supercar Experiences, Smeatharpe Stadium also runs Under 17 Driving Lessons in a Kia Ceed, led by a qualified instructor. These sessions take place in a safe, off-road environment and are designed to teach the core foundations of driving, ideal for building confidence and developing skills long before hitting public roads. Aimed at 10 to 17-year-olds, they also offer parents a practical way to ease into the cost of future driving lessons.

During each session, young drivers will get hands-on experience with essential techniques such as braking, accelerating, gear changes, steering, signalling, and more, laying down the groundwork for a smooth transition into real-world driving.
