How do you make the Mazda MX5 even more powerful and enjoyable a track day drive? Simple - you turbo charge it! The Mazda MX5 Turbo is everything that you know and love of this popular sports car, but takes it to another level in terms of design, power and performance.

The obvious differences on first impressions are the front and end bumper trims, and a much lower suspension bringing the wheels - with broader trims - down to track level, offering it the most precise and sharp handling possible for all those tight corners and hairpins on race tracks, but also as a unique option for our range of Drifting experience days.

And then there’s the MX5 Turbo’s engine, which boosts it from 1.6 litres to 1.8 litres, which offers out phenomenal power of 180 bhp, acceleration from 0 - 60 mph in 8 seconds, and top speeds of around 130 mph. You can be assured that this is a turbo sports car unlike any you’ll have driven before!

On Mazda’s production line for seven years from 1998 to 2005, the MX5 Turbo won a stack of accolades for their mantelpiece, most notably from the American car magazine Car and Driver, who awarded it a spot in their annual ‘10Best’ list in 1998, 1999 and 2001.

It was also one of the ‘Hero Cars’ used in the Emmy award winning US action/comedy TV series V.I.P, which ran for four series from 1998 to 2002, with Pamela Anderson in the lead role of an undercover detective for a bodyguard agency called Valley Irons.
