Successor to the MGA, which had been in production since 1955, the British Motor Corporation (BMC) first unveiled the MG B Roadster from 1962 onwards, starting an unbroken run of 18 years in production in all, by which time they were made under the Austin-Morris faculty of British Leyland.
Assembled at their plant in Abingdon, Oxfordshire (coincidentally, not far from our own TrackDays venue at Abingdon Airfield), this two door, four seater Cabriolet sports car was the first from BMC to be based on a unitary structure, whereas their other previous models like the MGA and notably, their rivals, the Triumph TR series, had been built on a body-on-frame construction.
Kitted out beneath the bonnet lies a 1798cc 4 Cylinder inline engine, which helps it power up to 95 bhp, with top speeds of 105 mph and acceleration from 0 - 60 mph in 12 seconds, making this an ideal classic British car for a life of ease on the open road - as you indeed can, with our special range of road trip driving experiences out in the Essex countryside where we have the B Roadster available to hire.
