Monster trucks, those hulking, snarling beasts of the motor world, began as humble pickup trucks souped up by lunatics with too much time, beer, and spare parts. In the late 1970s, Bob Chandler - mad scientist of the truck universe - built "Bigfoot," the first true monster truck, by cramming absurdly oversized tires onto a Ford F-250. Naturally, this led to driving over cars, because what else do you do when your tires are taller than a toddler? By the 1980s, smashing cars had evolved into full-blown competitions, complete with absurd names like Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction. Fast forward, and now it's a roaring spectacle of horsepower, dirt, and physics defying common sense - proof that humans, given a powerful enough engine, will always find a way to break something gloriously.
