Early in the 1990s, Nissan developed the R32 Skyline GTR to compete in Group A racing in Japan. With 29 victories in its first 29 races, it was incredibly successful. From a rich vein of potent Japanese performance cars that proliferated between the late 1980s and the early 2000s, Godzilla was a technological marvel.
Like the other Skyline models and the Toyota Supra MK4, it has become a modern classic because of their robust modification ready engines - in this case the renowned RB26DETT 2.6-liter in-line six twin-turbo engine. The car was already powerful with 276 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, but with an engine suitable for tweaking, 1000 bhp estimates started to surface.
