Driving experiences to help motorists weather the winter

Driving experiences to help motorists weather the winter - News

  • Thousands of injuries and fatalities on Britain's roads were caused by wet and wintry weather in 2020
  • But at DrivingExperience.com our range of offerings could help forestall road risks waiting to happen this winter
  • Advice comes as Britain is battered by blizzards, with experts warning the cold weather snap is set to continue

Thousands of avoidable road collisions could be prevented this winter if Brits honed their skills behind the wheel by taking part in a track based driving day with us here at Driving Experience.

Our advice comes in the wake of The Department for Transport's latest figures, which reveal that wet, damp and flooded road surfaces were one of the major causes of reported accidents on Britain's roads in 2020, causing 25,974 injuries and 486 fatalities.

Meanwhile, wintry weather was another menace on Britain's roads last year, guilty of contributing to a further 747 injuries and 25 fatalities while snow, frost or ice was present.

Indeed, at DrivingExperience.com, we give motorists the opportunity to take turns to tackle driving in challenging conditions, such as getting to grips with driving on wet, icy or snowy surfaces with one of our Skid Pan experiences, or exploring off the beaten track in an Off Road Buggy experience.

Dan Jones at DrivingExperience.com, says: "Motorists could be forgiven for thinking our track days are reserved solely for pleasure. However, we also mean business when it comes to road safety matters, which is why we also offer experiences which require drivers to draw on every ounce of their driving ability."

"We hope drivers come away from such experiences with improved driving ability and a renewed sense of confidence, which will hopefully help play its part in driving down the number of incidents caused by adverse weather conditions."

What's more, the pressure has turned up on drivers to better their driving skills, as storms sweep across Britain and temperatures plunge with winter taking its hold.

Dan adds: "The recent storms have caused havoc on the roads, and motorists should prepare for these to continue throughout the winter, making a driving experience a creative and fun way of helping drivers withstand the elements and stay on track into the New Year."
