Bentley Continental GT Driving Experiences

Their first new model of the 21st century - and their first Grand Tourer model of the new millennium to boot - the Bentley Continental GT had its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003, and went into production that same year. It was a step up from the previous Continental R and Continental T models, as it was produced with the mass market in mind.

But even though it has been produced with a much wider audience in mind, it’s still hand assembled, and has the same attention to quality and care that the higher end Bentley models possess, with the same comfortable, luxe interiors you’d expect. It’s dashboard clock is even made by Swiss watchmakers Brietling.

It’s also one of the fastest Bentley models, powered as it is on 6.0 litre W12 engine, packing 553 bhp. This helps it to accelerate from 0 - 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, and 0 - 100 mph in 11.4 seconds, with top speeds achievable of 197 mph. With the ultimate in design, engineering and performance, the Continental GT is one high performance car you won’t forget in a hurry.

One of the Continental GT’s most famous owners was pop legend Prince, who owned one of the 2006 models in Baby Blue. After he died in 2016, this was placed on display on the sound stage at his famous Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, where it is still on view to the public today.

In 2007, a motorsport model of the Continental GT was produced, called the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Quadruple World Rally Champion Juha Kankkunen famously drove this model on the frozen Baltic Sea near Oulu in Finland in March of that year, breaking the World Speed Record on Ice, travelling at 205.67mph.
