Information About the Bentley Flying Spur
In production for an unbroken run of 15 years thus far over two generations of models, Bentley’s Flying Spur luxury saloon car was first manufactured in 2005, with sales commencing in the spring of that year.
The particular variant of the Flying Spur we have available to book for driving experiences here on TrackDays is from its first generation of production that ran until 2013.
This Bentley was partly produced in collaboration with Volkswagen, who supplied the 6.0 litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine that is also found in the German automotive firm’s Phaeton saloon model.
Also kitted out with adaptive air suspension and continuous damping control, the Flying Spur really does befit its name in terms of power and performance, with 560 bhp helping it zip from 0 - 60 mph in 5 seconds on its way to creditable top speeds of 195 mph.

The Flying Spur proved an instant bestseller for Bentley, with deliveries exceeding the 4,500 mark in its first year alone. This did mean that due to demand, their manufacturing plant in Crewe temporarily ran production of this model from Volkswagen’s Transparent Factory at Dresden in Germany.
It is also one of Bentley’s more greener powered saloons. Models produced in the first generation from 2011 onwards were able to be fuelled on either standard leaded petrol or E85 Bioethanol fuel.
