The maiden Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit was in 1948. Since which time, there is one name that has raced to victory here more times than any other. Step forward Lewis Hamilton, who extended his number of British F1 Championship titles to eight in 2021.

That's three more than joint second place Jim Clark (five wins between 1962 - 1967) and Alain Prost (also five wins between 1983 - 1993) and also four more than third place Nigel Mansell (four wins between 1986 - 1992) in the all-time listings.

It is, however, the Italian stallions of the automotive world Ferrari who have produced the most Silverstone winning cars. Their cars have raced to victory 16 times in all. Germany's Sebastian Vettel (currently racing for Team Aston Martin), was the most recent driver to take a car of theirs to pole position at the 2018 British Grand Prix.
