In production over a course of three iterations from 1975 to 1996, Jaguar’s XJS model was its longest running and also one of its best selling, with over 100,000 units sold worldwide. It still has a sizable following amongst motoring enthusiasts of a certain age, and at TrackDays we have it available to book for our Classic Jaguar On Road Experience.
The particular model we have available to drive was from its first run of production, from 1975 to 1981. Sleek, sophisticated and super powered, it has all the hallmarks of one of Jaguar’s greatest models, with a convertible roof. 14,800 from this production run were built and manufactured.
Power on the XJS comes from its V12 engine, which hums into life with an awesome 273 bhp, allowing it to accelerate from 0 - 60 mph in 8.1 seconds, with top speeds achievable in excess of 148 mph.
