Land Rover Discovery Driving Experiences

Having just celebrated its 30th anniversary since first rolling off the production line, and with worldwide unit sales of over 1.2 million later, the Land Rover Discovery is as popular as it ever was when it comes to off road vehicles.

No matter where you are in the world, whether on safari in Africa or driving across farmland in the Yorkshire Dales, it is one of the few vehicles that is recognised globally.

At TrackDays, we have it available to book as part of our Ultimate Adventure and Top Gear Track Day Challenge packages at Prestwold Hall in Leicestershire and Dunsfold Park in Surrey respectively, where you can take the ‘Disco’ (as it is colloquially known) out onto an open specially prepared 4x4 course.

Covering a range of challenging terrains and gradients, you’ll get to see what this king of the off-road is really capable of, powered on a 2.5 litre engine, offering 135 bhp and top speeds of 95 mph whilst tackling the outdoors in ways you’ll have never seen anywhere else.

You may not know it, but the Land Rover Discovery is a rally champion. It roared to pole position in the 4WD Category in 2010, when it took part in the annual Rallye Aicha des Gazelles that is held every March in the southern part of Morocco.

As 2019 marked the 30th anniversary of production on the Discovery, Land Rover produced a special commemorative model to mark the occasion. The Discovery Anniversary Edition was available in a choice of four special colours: Santorini Black, Corris Grey, Loire Blue or Indus Silver.
