BTCC opener expected to inspire would-be racers - News

  • Race car experience company gears up for surge in bookings as British Touring Car Championship returns to Donington on 23rd April
  • Need for speed… DrivingExperience.com bookings are already up three times in Q1 2022 compared to the same period last year
  • Introduction to Track Driving package sales have doubled in the last year demonstrating the potential that BTCC return has in encouraging more fans to head the track

The British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) roars back into life on 23rd April, and a leading experience day provider is gearing up for an expected acceleration in bookings from budding racers inspired by the professional tin-top action.

At Driving Experience, we're expecting to see a big increase in demand - following the return of topflight motorsport to terrestrial TV screens - for our track-based experiences where racing fans can get behind the wheel of Single Seater Race Cars, such as a Jordan F1 car, Formula Renault 2000 and Ford Single Seater Thrill.

Indeed, our overall bookings are up three times in Q1 2022 compared to the same period last year, whilst our Introduction To Track Driving - Clio Bronze, which uses Renault Clios similar to those in the former BTCC-support series, has more than doubled in the past year.

Alex MacGregor at DrivingExperience.com, says: "The BTCC remains the most popular domestic racing series in the UK and its return will be hotly anticipated by thousands of race fans up and down the country.

"If previous years are anything to go by, many race fans will not be satisfied merely watching the drama on their television screens but will be raring to navigate tricky twists and turns, long stretches, and fast sweeping sections for themselves."

And with both Formula 1 and MotoGP now well underway, it's not just the BTCC which is set to inspire more Brits to put their pedal to the metal or get their knees down at race circuits up and down the country. In fact, our Formula 1 Experiences draw the most attention during August last year, almost immediately after the British Grand Prix.

Alex adds: "On inspection of our historic booking data, it is clear that thrillseekers have gained real curiosity into what it's like to be at the helm of one of these high-performance vehicles, and hopefully our experiences will give them a taste of the action."
