Classic cars: the best value drives around

Classic cars: the best value drives around - News

It’s not all doom and gloom where both motoring and current world events are concerned. In fact, recent news points to the evidence that classic cars are actually enjoying a bit of stability or upward movement, in that they’re either holding or increasing their value.

The weekend before last (Friday 4th - Sunday 6th September) saw the Concours of Elegance classic car event at Hampton Court Palace in Richmond-upon-Thames, Surrey, where an array of around 60 of the rarest classic cars were on display - many of which have never been seen before on UK shores.

It was also the site of a live car auction, the first for many dealers and enthusiasts in months following the easing of some of the harsher lockdown restrictions.

However, car auction houses reported that they were successful in adapting their business model, even in the peak of lockdown, and found that their online auctions were just as, if not more popular and profitable as live open auctions.

This in turn has undoubtedly driven interest in the classic car sector, with many auction houses and dealers citing that lockdown has whetted the appetite for fans getting behind the wheel of some iconic motors from over the years.

If owning a vintage Roadster or a timeless Aston Martin is on your as-yet-attained bucket list, and you’re thinking of obtaining an old favourite at an auction house near you, Driving Experience’s range of Classic Car packages could be just the thing to help you decide where to invest your money in some motoring history.

Our venues such as Dunsfold Park in Surrey, Three Sisters in Wigan and Castle Combe in Wiltshire pay host to a variety of Blast and Thrill packages of some of the finest classic cars from both sides of the Atlantic, from as little as £29.

This includes small but super fun beauties like the 1968 Mini Cooper S, or even an 80s Hot Hatch such as the Ford Escort RS Turbo and Peugeot 205 GTi, right through to the sleek and powerful Aston Martin DB5 and Jaguar E-Type.

One of our venues, Bicester Heritage Centre in Oxfordshire, is in fact the only place in the UK where you can drive Classic Cars at an original nostalgic location for vintage motoring enthusiasts, where a team of restorers keep the cars in good working order in the original buildings and garages.

Or better still, some of our Classic Car experiences make for a fantastic nostalgic day out of driving with our Road Tours packages. A stunning selection of Jaguar Mark 2s and E-Types are available for Full or Half Day Road Trip packages.

These will get you out in the vintage motors as they were intended, on the open road in stunning countryside such as the Cotswolds and the Malvern Hills of Worcestershire.

To browse and book our full range of Classic Car driving experiences head to the Classic Car page of the Driving Experience website today. Whether you’re looking to book onto a direct date or prefer the flexibility of an open voucher, we have everything you need to get your classic car fix.
