Lamborghini Launch Exclusive Supercars With Moustaches - News

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. That picture you see above is indeed a Lamborghini supercar with a giant 'tache on the bonnet. The reason why however, is a very important one, as this month, the Italian supercar marque that has brought raging bulls to our roads has become an official partner of Movember.

Over the next month, Automobili Lamborghini will be taking part in a series of fundraising and awareness campaigns for the men's health charity, who offer proactive support and help to men who are suffering with their mental health, testicular cancer and/or prostate cancer.

The main focus of the campaign encourages men here in the UK and all across the world to either grow a moustache, hold a fundraising event or take on a physical activity challenge during the month of November to help raise money for the charity to continue their vital work in improving men's health and encouraging positive conversations and action around this.

Recent statistics also show that, sadly, it is still much needed; in the UK, it is currently estimated that one man every hour dies from prostate cancer, and that one in eight have a common mental health problem including depression, anxiety, panic disorder or OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Globally, men currently also die 5 years earlier than women on average. The work of Movember is to aim to reduce preventable deaths in men by giving information and awareness, funding research and projects.

This weekend just gone on Saturday (6th November), Lamborghini dealerships right across the world including those in London, New York and Sydney took part in the Bull Run event, with customers and staff alike being encouraged to make donations ahead of the fleet of 1500 specially "Mo-dified" Lambos bearing moustache stickers on their bonnets taking to the streets of their respective cities to bring about awareness.

Lamborghini's CEO and Chairman Stephan Winkelmann has said that the partnership is part of their longer term goals to help engage with and raise awareness of men's health and support and research towards this, saying "This is a perfect parallel to the many initiatives that we have been carrying out internally for years in favour of the psycho-physical well-being of our people."

Furthermore, he highlighted Movember's "health-screening and prevention projects ... [and]... schemes supporting diversity and inclusion and numerous social initiatives, which make Lamborghini an ethically responsible industrial entity."

And indeed, just starting a conversation with another man who may need it around a set of turbocharged hot wheels could make even some small difference to their mental wellbeing or encourage them to seek help. And that's the kind of positive action we like to see.
