Five of the best: Lamborghinis

Five of the best: Lamborghinis - News

It’s fair to say it’s been a great time for Lamborghini recently. Even in the face of global and economic uncertainty, the raging bulls of the supercar world have risen to the occasion and charged in the face of such challenges, and as a result have had their best sales month to date.

Last month, they reported delivery of a record 738 new models to customers - their best September performance to date - and overall Q3 sales of over 2,000 units worldwide. It’s an even more phenomenal comeback when you consider they had to close their offices for seven weeks during the peak of lockdown.

And, as we here at Driving Experience reported back in May this year, the Italian marque remains by far our most popular choice for customers booking from our range of driving experience days we offer. So with this in mind, we thought we’d shine a light on five of the very best Lambos for you to take to the wheel of at venues and locations across the UK…

Lamborghini Gallardo

Lamborghini Gallardo

Just as Aston Martin are synonymous with the DB5, and as the Lotus is to the Elise, so too is Lamborghini to their Gallardo (pronounced ‘Gee-ar-doh’, fact fans). For 10 whole years between 2004 and 2014, this turbo charged beast was their flagship model and instantly became one of the most iconic supercars of the 00s, with over 10k units sold.

It’s popularity is undoubtedly down to its 4.2 litre V10 engine, which, whilst smaller than other models in their fleet down the years, offers out 493 bhp and top speeds just over 190 mph, adding up to a super fun turn in a seriously super powered set of wheels.

We can get you behind the wheel of a Gallardo for a 3 mile blast at venues including North Weald Airfield and Tockwith Motorsports Centre from just £49.

Lamborghini Aventador

Lamborghini Aventador

We’re fairly certain that the Aventador should come with a double warning. Namely: handle with caution, and wear strong trousers. First rolled off the production line in 2011, it was Lamborghini’s successor to their Murcielago model.

Make no mistake when we say that this is a wild, uninhibited beast of a supercar, powering out 700 bhp from its V12 engine and top speeds of over 215 mph.

It’s definitely a Lambo that needs careful taming and handling, so much so that Jeremy Clarkson called it both a ‘raging monster’ and ‘the best looking car ever made’.

Our venue at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in East Sussex will let you enjoy 2 thrilling laps out on their circuit track in an Aventador for just £159.

Lamborghini Huracan

Lamborghini Huracan

It’s been six years since Lamborghini first rolled their Huracan model off the production line - 2014 was when it was launched. But in that time, it’s quickly established itself with a reputation as notorious as the Spanish fighting bull it was named after.

The current reigning record holder of fastest Lamborghini on the Top Gear test track, the 5.2 litre V10 engine on this wild creature is tuned to power out 602 bhp, and jaw dropping top speeds of around 200 mph.

Fancy seeing whether the Huracan can take on Ferrari’s prancing 458 model? You can book our special Race Car package to pit the two against each other at our Bovingdon Airfield venue in Hertfordshire for just £149.

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

The convertible variant of Lamborghini’s standard Gallardo model - first produced in 2006 - takes the roof off (literally and figuratively) and turbo boosts this already crazy fast supercar - with it’s equally kitsch lime green livery - into another dimension altogether.

With the wind at your head, the difference in aerodynamics is immediately noticeable, as it accelerates from 0 - 60 mph in an eye-popping 3.8 seconds, powering on a 5.0 litre V10 engine offering out 520 bhp.

You can take the Gallardo Spyder out for a 6 mile thrill at a selection of venues across the UK, including Castle Combe Circuit and Three Sisters from just £69.

Lamborghini LP570 Performante

Lamborghini LP570 Performante

We’ll just come out and say it: the LP570 Performante is by far the most brashly and boldly powered of all the Lambos in our fleet here at Driving Experience, and is definitely one to tick off your supercar bucket list.

It’s the convertible version of their Superleggera Gallardo, and was first unveiled in 2011. It’s light compared to their stockier, brawnier models, weighing in at 1689kg thanks to its carbon fibre monocoque.

But this immediately makes for an intense G-force performance out on the circuit track, with a fine tuned 5.2 litre V10 engine powering out 570 bhp and top speeds just over 200 mph.

You can get to unleash the full effect of the LP570 Performante for yourself, when you book it as part of our Triple Lamborghini Thrill - that’s 6 miles in this model, the Gallardo and Aventador - at our Prestwold Hall venue in Leicestershire for just £249.
