Learner drivers urged to beat the rush and start learning before they turn 17

Learner drivers urged to beat the rush and start learning before they turn 17 - News

  • Prospective young drivers can get ahead of the crowd as UK hit by immense backlog for driving lessons and tests
  • Beat the rush as road driving lessons start again by learning to drive on the track
  • DrivingExperience.com urges young Brits to get a head start and learn the driving essentials

At Driving Experience, we advise hopeful youngsters across the UK that they should think outside the box if they are going to pass their driving test in the next twelve months.

Indeed, we advise that many young adults looking to gain some freedom on the road can take up driving lessons before their 17th birthday if they want a pink licence before they turn 18.

This comes as recent news indicates that a backlog of over one million prospective drivers are waiting to take their tests, with some expected to wait as long as eight months for an available slot.

Meanwhile, with COVID-19 restrictions easing, driving lessons are resuming for those who managed to get in early and avoided a waiting list, with one school reporting to have 26,000 students on its waiting list to begin their lessons.

Alex MacGregor at DrivingExperience.com says: "Driving lessons and tests have become a hot commodity across the UK, meaning it’s more important than ever to be one step ahead of the crowd. We provide a wide range of driving lessons with a fully qualified instructor for children over the age of ten to get behind the wheel and learn the basics on a track rather than a road, providing them with all the knowledge they need to be one step ahead."

A 30 Minute Young Driver Experience starts at £39.99, and is available for children aged between 10 and 17 who are interested in getting behind the wheel and learning driving essentials.

Meanwhile, from our latest booking data at Driving Experience, we can report our gift voucher bookings are up by 88% compared to this time last year, as more and more people are taking this opportunity to beat the rush and get some track time in the diary.

Alex adds: "In comparison to last year, we’ve had a significant increase in enquiries and bookings, showing a real light at the end of the tunnel and a sense of normality at last."
