Chevrolet Camaro Driving Experiences

It was back in 2006 when Chevrolet announced they were putting together a brand new version of their popular Camaro model. And even though it took another three years for it to hit the production line in 2009, most motoring enthusiasts will agree that it was definitely worth the wait.

This particular Camaro model we offer here on TrackDays - of which just over 1900 were produced as a special edition in 2010 - is perhaps instantly recognizable to fans of the Transformers series of films as ‘Bumblebee’, one of Optimus Prime’s team of Autobots.

But whilst we can’t guarantee you its transformation into a crime fighting robot superhero, one thing we can assure you is its turbo boosted performance out on the track, with a 3.6 litre V6 engine humming on 640 bhp, and the capability to achieve top speeds of 130 mph, accelerating from 0 - 60 mph in 5 seconds.

This Camaro model has also been produced in several other special editions over the course of its six year production, including a specially customised 2009 model for the popular US talk show host Jay Leno, with the same V6 engine as the standard Camaro, but enhanced with the addition of two Turbonetics T-3 turbochargers.

Such was the popularity of this Camaro following its use in the Transformers film Revenge of the Fallen, that at one point in 2009, dealers were reporting that demand was outstripping availability, with it being so sought after that in some cases it was $5000 above its recommended retail price.
