Ferrari 458 Challenge Driving Experiences

Designed to participate in the Ferrari Challenge racing series, the Ferrari 458 Challenge was first presented for the 2011 season at the Italian supercar marque’s Annual Dealer Meeting in the summer of 2010.

And whilst it is currently only available for our 14 Lap Race Car experience we have to book at Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire, it is one worth every penny to make petrolheads everywhere salivate with unadulterated glee.

The main focus for engineering and design here is on making it even more lightweight to make it a faster and more furious drive around the track or circuit, with thinner body panels, and a polycarbonate windshield and windows.

It all adds up to the most rapid ride of your life you’ll ever experience in a Ferrari, with a 4.5 litre V8 engine roaring out 562 bhp, acceleration from 0 - 60 mph in a record breaking 2.9 seconds, and a jaw dropping top speed of 210 mph.

Of all their purpose built sports cars, the Ferrari 458 Challenge is probably one of the rarest there is to drive. Just under 150 of these models have been produced since 2011, but given that somewhere between 25 - 50 of these have been written off in race conditions, that number is more likely somewhere under 100.

The 458 Challenge has also had the honour of being replicated in small scale form for fans of the Hot Wheels die cast toy vehicles, at 1:18 scale, available in both its ‘Race and Play’ and ‘Signature Series’ ranges.
