Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Driving Experiences

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano was first produced in 2006 following its debut at the Geneva Motor Show that same year, and was the successor to their 575 Maranello GT model. Taking its name from its total engine size (5999 cc) and Ferrari’s famous Fiorano test circuit, it takes a more aerodynamic outlook in terms of engineering, power and performance.

This is achieved by its underbody spoiler and venturi tunnels, that give it more of a downforce, suspension coils and semi active dampers that are controlled by a liquid in the damper reservoir, which, dependent on viscosity, enables superior braking and handling.

Powering for this two doored thoroughbred is supplied from its 6.0 litre V12 engine, pumping out a phenomenal 611 bhp, helping it to cruise effortlessly from 0 - 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and 0 - 100 mph 7.3 seconds, with a jaw dropping top speed of 208 mph achievable for any discerning supercar fanatic.

The 599 GTB Fiorano served as inspiration for Ferrari’s move into hybrid powered supercars in 2013. It was used as a test mule in the development of their LaFerrari model, which was their first limited production hybrid sports car, powered on an electric motor, KERS system and 7-speed dual-clutch automated/manual transmission.

The 599 GTB Fiorano was also the recipient of some major awards for Ferrari from motoring publications in its launch year in 2006. Both the BBC’s Top Gear magazine and EVO magazine awarded this model as their Car of the Year and Supercar of the Year respectively.
